Stop by Wickenburg's Hassayampa River Walk Bridge to see one of nature's spectacles; turkey vulture and raptor migrations! We see some of the highest numbers of migrating vultures in Arizona, with dozens to hundreds of birds roosting each evening in the trees by the bridge, as waves of migrants journey north in spring. Swirling flocks of 6-foot winged vultures gliding down in the late afternoon sunlight is a magical sight to behold!
Arrive 1-2 hours before sunset for the best show. You can also watch them sunning their outstretched wings at sunup before they catch the late morning thermals high up into the sky. You might see severalhawk species mixed in with them. Peak migration is from mid-March to early April.
The Hassayampa River Walk Bridge is located at 333 E Wickenburg Way, next to Hwy 60/89, with parking
available in nearby historic downtown Wickenburg.
Due to safety precautions with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are not holding the "All Vultures Eve" annual event this spring but instead providing the following educational materials for you to enjoy.
The Hassayampa River Walk Bridge is always open to visit!
